Dave Hunter has been working with mason bees for almost 20 years. What started as a backyard hobby has turned into a unique business that engages backyard gardeners and orchardists nationwide to learn more about “what’s buzzing in our yard.” Crown Bees, his flagship company, is dedicated towards helping the gardener be successful with native bees.  His presentation is practical, interactive, and  will entice the audience to learn more through trying things out for themselves. “Mason bees are non-aggressive, easy to raise, and are one of nature’s best pollinators.” Stated Dave.   His talk encompasses:

  • Our current pollination challenge
  • Types of bees in our yards
  • What’s a mason bee
  • How to successfully raise your own mason bees
  • What’s happening nationally with the mason bees and other bees
  • Simple steps you can take to make a difference.
