Plant list coming soon Now Posted OnlineThere are additional plants available in limited quantities.  Come get these treasures before they sell out.  Seeds will also be available from members’ gardens and from native plant collections at $1 per packet.

Contact us at info@hardyplantsocietywa.org if you’ld like to help with primping the pots, labeling, transferring the plants from our greenhouse to CUH, cashiering or any general question-answering!  We need your expertise!

NW Flower & Garden Show 2014

Curious about hardy plants? Come chat with us at the NW Flower and Garden Show this year in booth 2816! We are a friendly group of plant nerds that propagates plants, packages seed, tours, weeds and mulches together.

Our Flower and Garden Show committee put together a container display of hardy plants including drama queen Gunnera manicata, colorful container standbys Cupressus ‘Wilma Goldcrest’ and Euphorbia ‘Ascot Rainbow’, intriguing Ruscus hypoglossum and incredibly trailing Heucherella ‘Yellowstone Falls’.

Tony Avent – Miller Lecture

The Pendleton and Elisabeth Carey Miller Charitable Foundation and the Elisabeth C. Miller Botanical Garden would like to invite the members of the Hardy Plant Society of Washington to attend the Elisabeth Carey Miller Memorial Lecture. This yearly event is dedicated to the horticultural legacy of Mrs. Miller and highlights her commitment to education and public outreach. This is a free lecture and is offered as a gift from the Charitable Foundation to the horticultural community.

The lecture this year will feature renowned plantsman and horticulturist Tony Avent, owner of Plant Delights Nursery and the co-founder of the Juniper Level Botanic Garden in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mr. Avent’s talk will be So Many Plants, So Little Time: Little Known Perennial Favorites to Delight and Excite!

HPSW Summer Picnic – Sunday August 4th

RoseThe HPSW picnic will be Sunday August 4th 11-2 at Beda Herbison’s house.

This is a potluck. Bring a dish to share. We will be outside if the weather cooperates, and inside if it doesn’t. Beda has a lovely garden so we can enjoy her garden and socialize.

HPSW will supply plates, cups, cutlery, napkins and drinks.
